  • First up, what’s your favourite beach?

Oh that’s so hard! I love the beaches in Mauritius, I’ve been a couple of times for both work and pleasure and the white sand and blue sea is just perfect. That said Miami Beach is pretty special too. And you can’t beat it for people watching!

  • What makes the perfect getaway for your family?

Somewhere my husband and I would still wanted to go if we didn’t have children but that actually caters to little ones needs too! Great restaurants, a lovely beach, a bit of shopping, some form of entertainment for children but without the full on kid’s club/Benidorm style entertainment going on…

  • Where is the most kid-friendly destination you’ve visited?

I love the Hotel Esplendido in Puerto de Soller, Majorca. We’ve visited pre and post baby and loved it both times. The local restaurants are fantastic and you can get a pretty little tram into Soller. I’d love to visit nearby Deia next time too. Then the Lanzarote Retreats Eco village is brilliant – we’d never considered Lanzarote before Isabella but had a week in February to fill and with a very active 18 month old we didn’t want to go long haul so found this little gem. You can stay in eco cottages, villas or luxury yurts and they have chickens (you can help yourself to fresh eggs in the morning), donkeys and a sunken trampoline that our daughter went crazy for!

  • Which 3 words best describe your holiday style?

Cool, casual and relaxed. I love easy, pretty, floaty dresses with a bit of a bohemian vibe.  Anything by Isabel Marant is usually a winner and I have my eye on a Pampelone dress or playsuit for my next trip. Footwear wise I live in Ancient Greek sandals or Havaianas. I don’t do heels on holiday.Pampelone playsuitAncient Greek sandals

  • Any tips for keeping kids happy on the plane?

I pack a ‘surprise bag’ full of stickers, colouring books, a puzzle and various other bits and bobs which only comes out once we’re in our seats on the plane.

  • What small things would you be lost without on holiday?

A good book – children’s nap times are my time to bury my head in a novel, sun cream, sunglasses, water wipes. And (guiltily) my iPhone.

  • What’s on your holiday reading list?

Harper Lee’s Go Set a Watchman. I’ve had it since January but haven’t got round to reading it yet. View from the Esplendido Soller51CC2jfysbL

  • What are your beach bag must-haves?

Sunglasses, sun cream – I love the Ultrasun range for the whole family and Green People Organic Children Sun Lotion, water wipes and pretty much the entire contents of my changing bag! Plus a sunhat and rash vest for Isabella.

  • Bucket list destinations – go!

Italy, Bali, San Francisco, LA – I’m desperate to do a full US road trip.

  • Which holiday sticks in your mind as truly special?

I loved my honeymoon in Mauritius as one of the days was my most memorable ever – a simple boat trip but we saw dolphins, stopped for a lobster and rum beach BBQ, snorkeled and just had a perfect day.

  • Finally, when you get home, what are the signs you’ve been on a successful trip?

The sun lotion bottles being empty and having hundreds of photos to edit down!
