Chantal Kernzer is the Vice President of Retail for the One & Only Resort Group. Currently based in New York and a mum of two, we catch up with Chantal to find out her best tips for holidaying with kids.


What is your favourite beach?

It has to be Llandudno Beach in Cape Town where I grew up, it is full of amazing memories, very relaxed with a loyal surf community including my brother. I have witnessed some spectacular sunsets on this beach

What is your idea of the perfect holiday?

Somewhere that caters for the whole family. My ' happy place' is One and Only Reethi Rah Maldives- it doesn't get better than this for me-it's paradise! Perfect beach, amazing kids club, delicious food and romantic dinners with my husband.  I love to fill my day with activities so the Maldives is perfect. I start my day with Yoga on the beach, and then between swimming and playing with my kids, I will go diving and wake-boarding

Where was your first family holiday with kids?

Eze in the South of France.

How do you keep looking chic on holiday?

I like to feel comfortable and a summer wardrobe is my favourite! Lots of floaty kaftans, beach scarves, simple bikinis and bare feet whenever possible. My kids are the most chic in Sunuva

What are your tops tips for surviving a long haul flight with your kids?

iPads! Lots of snacks, colouring books and games. I will never forget my son’s favourite toy again

What do you always have in your hand luggage?

Anya Hindmarch travel compartments, she is a genius. I like to have everything separated into sections passport, iPad, camera and I love her ‘Take Off and Touch Down’ transparent wash bags, saves you having to put liquids into the plastic bags. I also love Organic Pharmacy’s Rose Face Spritz to freshen up

How do you keep the kids entertained on the beach when you want to sunbathe?

I don't sunbathe, I get quite restless and prefer to swim with the kids. If I am relaxing, it's in the shade, and usually in the late afternoon when the kids are enjoying the kids club!

What are your beach bag must haves?

Bikini bag, sun hat, Organic Pharmacy sun cream, a good book or magazine, buckets and spades, coconut oil for my hair and a Tangle Teezer
