Where is your favourite beach?
Venice Lido. The Excelsior. My family have been going there for 30 years or so. I grew up on that beach and have very fond memories and they have the best cabanas ever!
What’s your idea of the perfect holiday?
Somewhere that has great access to the beach for ease but also a place with attractions for adults and kids alike. Forte Dei Marmi is charming with the little fair in town for the children in the evenings and excellent restaurants and shopping for the adults later.
Where was your first family holiday with your kids?
How do you keep looking chic on holiday?
Keep it simple. I have a paired down aesthetic and pack accordingly. Lots of Isabel Marant tees and dresses, apc and Mascob separates and plenty of Lanvin flat sandals. For the beach – plain silhouette bikinis, gold hoops and no kaftans.
What are your top tips for surviving a long haul flight with your kids?
Be organised and take a big bag. Plenty of activities for them to do – sticker books, bead sets, new stories (all in separate clear bags so it’s easy to find and clear away) and iPads. Packed lunch/dinner and lots of snacks.
What do you always have in your hand luggage?
Nurofen, coco butter lip balm, iPod, large superfine cashmere scarf.
What did you read on your last holiday?
Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
How do you keep the kids entertained on the beach when you want to sunbathe?
Make sure I have lots of toys for them to play with!
What are your beach bag must haves?
Estioderm sun cream, lip balm, sunglasses, good book and magazines, sun hat, blackberry, little freezer bag – I always seem to be handed a wet swimming costume or two) and a secret snack and mini toy for emergencies!
