Where is your favourite beach?
Nothing beats a great British holiday when the weather is perfect so I would choose Aldeburgh or Thorpeness in Suffolk, two of the most family friendly places in the summer

What’s your idea of the perfect holiday?
Personal service, smiley staff, great food and a room with a view

Where was your first family holiday with your kids?
Pimento Hill, Jamaica – a fabulous villa with a staff of 7 at amazing value

How do you keep looking chic on holiday?
I keep it simple, take a good hair brush and always have my By Terry Or de Rose lip balm

What are your top tips for surviving a long haul flight with your kids?
Take your own pillows with you, lightly sprayed with Sleep Works (by This Works) for when they want to sleep and I give the girls maths apps to do on their kindles – amazing what a bit of competition between siblings can get them to do!

What do you always have in your hand luggage?
Eight Hour Cream, a copy of the latest Chic Retreats book, my kindle, a cashmere scarf and my own down pillow.

What did you read on your last holiday?
Aleph by Paulo Coelho.

How do you keep the kids entertained on the beach when you want to sunbathe?
An inflatable beach ball is essential and as a family we always travel with tennis rackets and tennis balls so the girls can keep themselves amused. Quiet/reading time is always a must during the hottest part of the day and if we are very lucky they may even have a snooze!

What are your beach bag must haves?
Sisley Fluid Body Sun Cream (SPF 30), Evian spray, Sunuva Rash Vests, fruit, Baby Lips lip balm with sun protection for the girls, water.
