First up, what’s your favourite beach?

Tanjong Rhu in Langkawi is amazing! It was one of the destinations we visited during our honeymoon 8 years ago. The beach is truly beautiful and when it's low tide you can walk far into the ocean. Breathtaking beach and a superb resort. Definitely one to visit again in the future.

What makes the perfect getaway for the family?

We have done many different types of holidays with the kids. I think the best getaway is usually one that has lots of facilities for the kids (a lovely warm pool, lots of board games for them to play, children's activities that they can partake in) and for us (a good spa will usually do it). Good food is a must for a perfect getaway!

Where is the most kid-friendly destination you’ve visited?

Belek in Turkey is great! We have been 2 years in a row and I cannot fault it. Cornelia Diamond is a superb resort, which has great pools, great suites, amazing food and lots of activities and entertainment that we can all partake in. Belek is going to be an annual destination for us and there are many other resorts we will try there.

Which 3 words best describe your holiday style?

Relaxed. Luxurious. Hot.

Any tips for keeping kids happy on the plane?

Make sure you have lots of snacks so the kids have an alternative if they do not like the plane food and warm milk in a thermos is a must if you want them to have a nap! Paper and colouring pencils will usually keep them occupied for a while and I'm afraid an iPad (preferably with suitable programmes/films downloaded) and headphones are essential.

What small things would you be lost without on holiday?

My sunglasses, my mobile so I can keep in touch with the business and baby wipes which can be used for almost anything.

Do you read while you’re away and if so, what’s on your reading list?

I usually try to read a book when I'm away but a rarely get to finish it. I'm currently reading The Midnight Rose by Lucinda Riley - a great read.

It can be tricky to pack for the beach, so what are your beach-bag must-haves?

A light shawl to cover my shoulders when it gets too hot, sun tan lotion and a sun-hat. I love the sun but I hate getting burnt so these items are a must in my beach bag.

Bucket list destinations - Go!

Jumby Bay in Antigua is my dream destination - I keep mentioning it to my husband so you never know! I'd also like to go to East Africa to see where my parents grew up and on safari with the family. I've been on safari but my husband and kids haven't so it would be nice to do it together.

What holiday sticks in your mind as truly special?

Every family holiday is special to me so it's hard to pick out just one. Las Vegas before we had kids was great! Not exactly relaxing but lots and lots of fun (although we did come back with empty pockets and lots of shopping).

Finally, when you get home, what are the signs that you’ve been on a successful trip?

A big smile on everybody's face!
