SABRINA’S MARRAKESH TRAVEL DIARY # 2
We had the most incredible day today. We drove 45 minutes into the Atlas Mountains and then walked 25 minutes up to a Berber village where we ate in the home of Mr Ibrahim and his family. This is an extremely old Berber house made of mud and clay and we ate the most delicious chicken and lamb tagines served with vegetables and couscous all made on the open fire.
The family were so hospitable and it's completely humbling for the kids to see other kids their own age without all the IT paraphernalia - in fact there wasn't even any mobile reception. Such a calm and peaceful life.
On the way home, the kids were honoured to saddle up the family horse and donkey and they rode back down the pretty difficult path- an interesting journey for them and us!
An amazing and humbling experience.
