Our star travel advisor Beth Cooper, founder of luxury travel PR company, Beth Cooper PR, shares with us her favourite beach destinations and her top insider tips for the best places to stay, eat and visit!

Where to go in August: Cornwall

Where to stay:
Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes (in the south) and St. Enodoc Hotel, Rock (in the north) are both very elegant, but also child-friendly, or at one of the cute little bolt holes in Padstow – it really depends the type of holiday you are looking for.

The Beaches:
Tavern Beach in St Mawes or Daymer Bay on the North Coast near Rock – it's huge and wonderful with big cliffs behind you.  Porthcurnick Beach in the south is also verybeautiful - a cute cove with plenty of rock-pools for exploring.

Where to eat:
Driftwood in Rosevine, near the pretty coastal village of Portscatho, Rick Stein's Seafood Restaurant inPadstow and the Blue Tomato Café in Rock are all wonderful!

What to do:
Beach, sea, bucket and spades and lots of walking!

Don’t forget to pack:
Something for every climate (you are still in the UK after all!)… including something warm for when the wind gets up!

Parents will love:
The kids club at Hotel Tresanton and simple beach days.

Kids will love:
Playing in the rock-pools and splashing in the sea!
