Our star travel advisor Beth Cooper, founder of luxury travel PR company, Beth Cooper PR, shares with us her favourite beach destinations and her top insider tips for the best places to stay, eat and visit!

Where to go in April: Dubai

Where to stay:  The Jumeirah Beach Hotel – The iconic sail shaped resort on Jumeirah Beach - is home to the fantastic Wild Wadi Waterpark and is a great family hotel. There are tonnes of great restaurants and activities for the kids. Also, Atlantis, The Palm is a stunning 5 star resort that is themed on the ancient city of Atlantis. It is very much a family hotel and is home to The Lost Chambers Aquarium, The Aquaventure Water Park and Dolphin Bay.

The Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Residences is luxurious yet affordable, with a range of holiday apartments suitable for families on a budget.

The Beaches: Nasimi beach at Atlantis, The Palm is fantastic with pure white sand. At night it is a the place for beach parties. The fabulous Jumeirah Beach is  home to the chic JBR Walk (great for a bit of shopping or a spot of lunch) and the annual turtle release - which the kids will love!

Where to Eat? The highest levels of hygiene can be found all over Dubai so it is perfectly safe to drink the water and eat fruit or spices from the Souks. If you are looking for somewhere chic to eat out, then the Gary Rhodes restaurant is very popular right now.

What to do or see? There’s so much to do for sports enthusiasts, shoppers, couples and families alike. Here are my top three suggestions...
1. A desert Safari - Sure to be a huge hit with the kids, they could even have a camel ride!
2. One definitely not to miss - ‘At The Top’ The viewing platform at the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa. This is a must when in Dubai, sure to be the highlight of your trip.
3. Ski Dubai - Yes, in Dubai, you really can do anything - even skiing!
Also, the Sandance music festival is held about 5 times a year is a fantastic event. Now in it’s second year, it attracts some of biggest DJ’s, artists and bands on the planet. If you are there whilst it is on, it is definitely worth checking out.

Don’t forget to pack: The odd scarf and top or dress with long sleeves, in order to respect local customs should you venture into places of worship, or into the malls and restaurants.  Beachwear is fine by pools and by the sea but it is worth remembering that respecting their local culture means wearing modest clothes in appropriate places. DO NOT take Codeine in to Dubai as it will be confiscated on arrival.

Parents will love: Dubai is home to some of the best bars and nightclubs in the world. How about an after dinner drink at Neos on the 63rd floor of The Address Downtown or for a how about a cocktail and the very cool Mahiki.

Kids will love: What could they want more from a holiday than the chance to swim with dolphins at Dolphin Bay!  And be sure to check out KidZania, an indoor theme park that is a town built just for kids! It is a replica city built at perfect 'kid size'. The little ones even get the chance to do adult "jobs"  like be a fireman or a TV presenter!
