In the first of a new series of blog posts, Sue from luxury travel agent Exsus (recently voted a Top  Specialist Tour Operator by Conde Nast Traveller), shares her favourite destinations for fabulous family escapes during the school holidays. First up is February Half Term:

Where to stay: Grenada is one of the less visited Caribbean islands, and the exclusive Spice Island resort reflects its lovely laid-back vibe. As for the villas, they’re right on the beach so are perfect for families who like to be a hop, skip, and a jump from the water.

The beaches: The Spice Island resort sits right on Grand Anse beach which is one of the most impressive in Grenada.

What to do or see: Try out the complimentary water-sports and tennis, or just enjoy relaxing on the soft white sand and swimming in the beautifully clear waters. You can also take a sailing trip to the nearby islands for fantastic snorkelling, or head inland to trek the rainforest.

Parents will love: Fine dining with a calypso-beat, and visiting the colourful Saturday market in St George’s.

Kids will love:
The Nutmeg Pod kid’s club which arranges fun activities for children aged 3 – 12, whilst older kids will love kayaking and Hobie-cat sailing.

Don’t forget to pack
Sunuva  UV swimmwear, for making sure your kids stay safe in the Caribbean sunshine!

To organise your dream Caribbean trip, or any other holiday contact Sue, or any of the fabulous Exsus team.

Sue has over 15 years of experience, specialising in Latin America and the Indian Ocean. A Scot with a Latin soul, Sue grew up in Brazil and Chile and has racked up a chronicle of Central and South American adventures from riding across the Andes (at the age of 11) to watching the sunrise from the top of a Mayan temple in Tikal.

And her wanderlust hasn’t stopped there: Sue has also travelled extensively though the Indian Ocean and the Middle East and is the fount of all knowledge for clients seeking R&R in Mauritius, the Maldives, the Seychelles, Dubai and Oman. Meanwhile her son Dylan has been well and truly bitten by the travel bug; having clocked up eighteen countries by the time he was ten, he is our resident guinea-pig for child friendly travel.

If like Sue you want to swim with pink dolphins in the Amazon, fly across the Costa Rican rainforest on the world’s longest zip-wire, or just blot out the rest of the world in an Indian Ocean paradise, Sue’s Latin spirit and years of know-how are just the ingredients you need in planning the trip of a lifetime.
